Access Panel Installation for Commercial Kitchen Exhaust Systems in Boston

WE ARE BOSTON’S BEST COMMERCIAL
ACCESS PANEL INSTALLERS

There are three main parts of a commercial kitchen exhaust system; the fan, the hood, and the duct. Of these, the duct is typically the most problematic to clean and maintain. This is because the duct work runs above the hood and up through the ceiling, so it is literally out-of-sight, out of mind. In order to properly care for your exhaust system, it’s critical that your duct work has the required access panels in the right places.

At One Call, we offer a complete line of access panels and we specialize in installation of access panels in any-sized commercial kitchen in the greater Boston area.

We do installation of access panels in Boston and Massachusetts as required by code

What Are Access Panels? Do I Need Them?

Access panels are doors cut into your kitchen exhaust duct. These specially made “doors” allow for inspection and cleaning. If you don’t have enough access panels, then proper cleaning and inspection isn’t possible and you’ll not only fail inspection you could be creating a serious fire hazard with excessive grease build up. Access panels are required by code.

So where do you need access panels? Access panels need to be installed at every 12′ of horizontal duct, at every change of direction and at every floor. Give us a call and we would be happy to come out and look at your system to determine exactly what you need to stay compliant.

Access Panels for Commercial Restaurants in Massachusetts

According to NFPA #96 1-3.1.3 code, all interior surfaces of the exhaust system shall be reasonably accessible for the cleaning and inspection purposes. The code also states the following:

  • Access panel openings are required every 12 feet (3.7 m) and at every change in direction of horizontal duct work, unless the duct is large enough for entry (about 24″ x 24″).

  • Openings must be within 18 inches (457.2 mm) of hoods containing dampers, which block the opening of the duct. This includes most water-wash type hoods.

  • Opening in vertical ducts are to be on every floor or on the top of the vertical riser if personnel entry is possible.

  • Exhaust fans with duct work connected to both sides must have access within 3 feet (0.92 m) on each side of the fan.

Access panels are essential to maintaining and cleaning a commercial kitchen exhaust system. If you are not sure about the make up of your system, or whether or not your system may need access panels, call us.
We can install the correct access panels to get your system in compliance and keep your business safe.

I do not leave many reviews, but when I do it is because I have found a company I can trust and rely upon. I just completed a commercial kitchen build out and it would not have been possible without the expertise of Scott and his team at One Call Ventilation. These guys helped engineer, fabricate, and install a very impressive system. We were faced with many challenges both structurally and through the permitting process. I gotta tell you, these guys went above and beyond the call of duty! I am grateful for choosing One Call Ventilation. I look forward to my next build out with these guys!

Luke Kenney, Restaurant Owner

ONE CALL; they do it ALL!!! These guys have got to be the most professional down to earth individuals I’ve ever dealt with. I contacted this company to install a hood system for my pizzeria. What we thought was an easy project turned into a nightmare! Scott, Kevin and the rest of the team went out of their way working with the obstacle course the town put us through. No extra charge. No hidden games. These guys always checked in with me; continued to work with my other contractors and town inspectors to make sure installation was done properly. I’d recommend this company to anyone who wants a headache free experience with installation done to all code/regulation standards. You won’t be disappointed!!! Thanks guys!

Great service! Vico Ristorante Italiano

Maria Loffredo, Vico Ristorante Italiano, Norwood, MA

Joey Lacey, Jenny's Pizza, Charlestown, MA

This was our first time opening up a food stall in Burlington. We had problems left and right but One Call helped us resolve all of them. My wife and I cant thank these guys enough for all that they have done. If all goes well with our place, we will definitely use One Call again. Thank you so much for everything guys. If anyone needs to have a hood vent system installed, please dont hesitate and call them. I would give 10 stars but it only allows 5. Thanks again for everything guys!

I want to keep this short and to the point….These 2 individuals that came to my restaurant this past Monday at Maekha Thai could not have been any more professional, personable, just so caring about the end result of the work they were performing. They treated this as if it were their own restaurant and made sure through the whole process that I was given the details needed to understand what they were doing and why!!! Scott, I believe may be the owner, not sure, but everyone in the front office needs to be aware that as an employer myself you really are fortunate to have these 2 as a team effort…WOW!! Anyone looking for great work, good attitudes, cleaning up after the work is done this is your company to deal with. Over and Out…Roger, Wilko!!

Chef Lou, Maekha Thai, Revere, MA

Customer service is not dead! Even better than the job they do is the service they provide. Restaurant managers don’t have time to stress about preventative maintenance more than they have to. Literally, one call and it’s all set. Follow up, reminder calls… one less thing I have to worry about.

John, Johnny's Hometown Diner, Attleboro, MA

I’ve been in restaurant business for over 20, one call ventilation is by far the best company we have used. They do it all, repairs in the middle of the night and do cleanings. Our hoods have never been cleaner, the go to the roof rain or shine. I would recommend them to anyone, having a hood system.
